Actor David Hasselhoff, the “America’s Got Talent” judge known for his playfully Hoff-ful puns, has listed his longtime family home in Encino at $4,195,000.

The 8,947-square-foot Southern Colonial, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, sits on nearly 1.5 acres entered through double gates.

A tree-lined drive leads to the two-story home, which has a two-story great room with soaring ceilings looking out on the backyard and a boulder-lined swimming pool with spa. There is a formal dining room, a screening room, two guesthouses and a tennis court.

“America’s Got Talent,” which first aired in 2006, has been the top Nielsen-rated TV show for most of the summer since returning for its fourth season in June. To borrow the vernacular of judge Hasselhoff, the reality competition is “Hoff the charts.”

The 57-year-old actor starred in “Baywatch” from 1989 to 2000 and “Knight Rider” (1982-86). In addition to his work in films and on other television shows, the Hoff has had a strong following in Europe as a recording artist since the late ‘80s. He will perform “Feeling Good” on Wednesday’s semifinal results show.

The property is co-owned by his ex-wife, actress Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, and was purchased in 1996. The Hasselhoffs raised their children in the house, which has a mix of family and entertaining space.

Bach-Hasselhoff, 45, appeared in “Baywatch” (1991-2000) and “Sirens” (1994-95), among other shows.

Patricia Hodson of Sotheby’s International Realty, Sunset, and Gina Martino of Prudential California Realty, Beverly Hills, have the listing.

Veteran actor James Hong has purchased a condo in a courtyard-style building in Los Angeles for $721,000.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit has 1,437 square feet of space plus a patio with fireplace off the living room, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Features include a formal dining room, hardwood floors, city views and custom cherry cabinets and granite counters in the kitchen.

Hong, 80, has hundreds of acting credits extending back to 1955. He is in the upcoming films “How to Make Love to a Woman” (2009) and “The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone” (2011) and was in “Balls of Fury” (2007). His voice work includes a role in “Kung Fu Panda” (2008) as well as the video game.

He was one of the founders of L.A.’s East West Players, which has been producing theatrical works since 1965.

The listing agent was Danny Mahelka of Coldwell Banker’s Sunset Boulevard office, and the sales agent was Eve Gogola of the same office, according to the MLS.

‘Hung’ up on the Hollywood Hills

Noreen Halpern, executive producer of HBO’s “Hung,” and her husband, Kevin Murphy, the Emmy-winning writer and producer of “Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical,” have listed their Hollywood Hills home at $1,195,000.

The English country-style home, built in 1927, has four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,736 square feet. There are coved ceilings, small-pane windows and two fireplaces. A walled brick courtyard, spa and mature fruit trees are among the outdoor features.

The couple purchased the house in 2004, a few months before they were married.

“It was the first house we both fell in love with,” Murphy said. “It looks like a woodland cottage from the street, but once you get closer, it’s an enormous multilevel home with a canyon view and a double lot.”

The house has been the site of outdoor parties and catered dinners.

“It’s an amazing entertainer’s home,” Murphy said. But he is particularly struck by the grounds, which he described as “tranquil and visually stunning, especially at night.”

They are selling because they bought a larger home to accommodate their growing family.

“We love the Hollywood Hills, so we’re only moving four minutes away,” Murphy said. The pair purchased bestselling biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli’s 4,557-square-foot Spanish-style compound, which includes a pool and guesthouse, in May for $3.1 million.

Halpern, 44, is executive producer of the upcoming TV series “Shattered” (2009) and “Copper” (2010).

In addition to his work on “Reefer Madness” (2005), Murphy, 42, has been a writer and producer for “Desperate Housewives” (2004-07), among other televisions shows. He is working on adapting the movie “Heathers” into a musical.

Kings owner makes a move

Update: Maloof Cos. President Joe Maloof has sold his Brentwood house for $4 million.

White trim, fencing and dormer windows give the two-story gated home a traditional look while hardwood floors, wainscoting and crown moldings continue the theme indoors. There are five bedroom suites, each with a walk-in closet and balcony, and 5 1/2 bathrooms in 6,100 square feet.

The main entry hall has a dramatic black-and-white floor, high ceilings and a sweeping staircase lined with windows. An oval-shaped saltwater pool sits in the lushly landscaped backyard.

The Mandeville Canyon-area property came on the MLS in October at $4,995,000.

Maloof, 53, purchased the home newly built in 2004 for $4.75 million, public records show. He oversees the family business empire, which owns the Sacramento Kings and Monarchs basketball teams, the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and other enterprises.

Susan Stark of Gibson International, Brentwood, had the listing, according to the MLS. Charles Pence of Coldwell Banker, Santa Monica, represented the buyer.
