A couple of Broadway hits just opened near Silver Lake.

Broadway composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown and his wife, conductor Georgia Stitt, recently purchased a three-bedroom, three-bathroom house for $1.15 million, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

The 2,495-square-foot traditional was originally built in 1939. It has a step-down living room with high ceilings, a fireplace and patio doors leading to the outside deck. There is a formal dining room adjacent to the updated cook’s kitchen. The home has a wine closet and tasting room, hardwood floors and views of Silver Lake.

Brown wrote songs for the Broadway musical “Parade,” for which he won the Tony Award for best original musical score in 1999. He also worked on the “Urban Cowboy,” “Kiss of the Spider Woman, “Songs for a New World” and “13.” Stitt was an assistant conductor for the 2003 Broadway production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”
