‘Fast & Furious 6,’ Emma Watson biggest hits of summer social media
What movies and stars did best in the world of social media this summer?
“Iron Man 3” may have been the season’s box office champion, but it looks like the latest installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise drove off with the biggest Facebook following.
“Fast & Furious 6,” starring Vin Diesel, had a whopping 38.4 million Facebook fans, the most of any summer movie, according to the digital marketing company Silverpop.

The action film, which grossed $789 million worldwide, got more Facebook fans than “The Hangover Part III” (24.9 million) and “Iron Man 3” (15.6 million).
Among the summer movie stars, mixed reviews of “The Bling Ring” didn’t stop Emma Watson from picking up more than 2.2 million new Twitter followers.
The “Harry Potter” star gained more Twitter followers than any other actor or actress, coming in ahead of Leonardo DiCaprio and Channing Tatum. She has more than 10 million total followers right now.
