Some super news for “Supergirl.”

CBS has announced it has ordered seven more episodes of “Supergirl,” meaning the freshman comic book series is getting a full-season order of 20 episodes.

“Supergirl” is the story of Kara Danvers, played by Melissa Benoist. Born Kara Zor-El, she was sent from Krypton to look after her cousin Kal-El on Earth as their home planet destructs. Unfortunately, Krypton’s explosion sends Kara’s pod off course and she doesn’t make it to Earth until years later, after Kal has already grown up leading a double-life as Clark Kent/Superman.

Although Kara has been hiding her superhuman abilities since arriving on Earth as a kid, she has now decided she is ready to embrace her heritage and forge her own story and identity as a superhero (with the help of some friends).

The series debuted on Oct. 26, and, according to CBS, “Supergirl” currently averages 11.24 million viewers with a 2.8 in the sought-after 18-49 demographic (and a 3.5 in the 25-54 group), which is a 46% hike in overall viewers compared to the same period a year ago.

“Supergirl” also features Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood and Calista Flockhart.
