What’s the most buzzed about fall TV show? Twitter says it’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
Shondaland continues to rule the Twitterverse, according to findings released by the social media platform on Thursday.
Twitter looked at tweets from June 1 to Sept. 14 to determine which programs garnered the most buzz. There were 21 million tweets about fall TV premieres, up 34% from 2014. About 90% of the conversations revolved around returning shows.
The No. 1 most buzzed about fall TV show was Shonda Rhimes’ “Grey’s Anatomy,” which airs on ABC. It racked up 2.2 million tweets in its 11th season, likely the result of Dr. McDreamy’s (Patrick Dempsey) abrupt departure from the show.

The CW’s “Supernatural,” AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” were also in the top five most buzzed about returning television shows.
Meanwhile, Rhimes’ other ABC hit “How to Get Away With Murder,” which is returning for its sophomore season, surged 276% in buzz from last year.
The drama followed CW’s “The Flash” and “Jane the Virgin” in the top three list of shows that have had the highest year over year growth in conversation.
New shows that have garnered the most excitement from Twitter users include “American Horror Story: Hotel,” “Scream Queens,” “The Late Show,” “Heroes Reborn” and “Supergirl.”
