Limited edition teapots: Crate & Barrel celebrates its 50th anniversary with a limited edition of teapots designed by 12 international artists. The line debuts Dec. 1, with a new design featured each following month. The Bauhaus-inspired teapots will be signed and numbered, with only 200 of each available online. The first, “Sea Journey” by Finnish artist Janine Rewell, kicks off the collection, informed by Slavic folk art and Scandinavian design. Other contributors are Brooklyn artist Lourdes Sanchez in January; Portland, Ore., artist Yellena James in February; design team Jeff Barfoot and Shay Ometz of Dallas-based Bee Things in March; London-based designer Nomoco in April; German graphic designer Sabine Reinhart in May; Minneapolis illustrator Elvis Swift in June; New York artist and illustrator Andrew Bannecker in July; German-born illustrator Olaf Hajek in August; Italian architect and designer Paola Navone in September; London artist Jenny Bowers in October; and Brooklyn illustrator Julia Rothman in November.
