Hello Kitty and Yoda cupcakes, Sangria-on-a-stick and other things we want in our mouths

Nothing says summer like white sangria ice pops, Hello Kitty and Yoda cupcakes and breakfast poutine right? Well, sort of. Monday morning’s #weekendeats chat on Twitter was full of sweet surprises. Here are the highlights:

The only thing better than a glass of sangria in the sun is sangria on a stick. Daisy Thompson from the blog Daisy’s World shared a recipe for her white sangria pops made with white wine, lots of chopped fruit and orange juice.

Jenn from the blog JustJennDesigns.com often puts her creative juices to good use with Star Wars- and Hello Kitty-themed desserts. She shared a photo of a box of Hello Kity and Yoda cupcakes, each with a Hello Kitty- or Yoda-shaped cookie on top.

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about Brian Staffield’s version of the “Arrested Development” Skip’s scramble. This week on his blog Cooking With B.S., unveiled another breakfast creation, the breakfast poutine, made with Hollandaise sauce and cheese curds.

Shulie Madnick, from the blog Food Wanderings tempted our sweet tooth with her recipe for coconut meringe chocolate cake, and the blog Citizen Robot had us doing a double-take with this picture of a peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich from Autie Em’s Kitchen in Los Angeles.

Please join in by tweeting your #Weekendeats at us Monday morning @latimesfood and share your photos with us in our “Weekend Eats” gallery. We’ll feature some of the photos here on Daily Dish, so be sure to check back for more #Weekendeats and #Foodporn throughout the week.
