Rudolph Schindler's Mackey Apartments are open for viewing
FANS OF Rudolph Schindler can see the late architect's 1939 Mackey Apartments and view the work of the MAK Center's artists and architects in residence during a free open house Saturday. The architecture firm Space International will give tours and answer questions about the garage renovations. The afternoon also will include tours of the 1937 Gregory Ain-designed Dunsmuir Flats building nearby and a 1 p.m. Schindler lecture by Judith Sheine, chairwoman of the architecture department at Cal Poly Pomona. Visitors to the open house can gain free admission that day to the Schindler House in West Hollywood. The Mackey Apartments are at 1137 S. Cochran Ave. in the mid-Wilshire section of Los Angeles.
