Barbie, moving from Malibu, gets help from Mario Lopez
Barbie’s pink motorcade is scheduled to make its first stop on its Barbie is Moving tour at the Grove on Saturday.
It’s likely to turn plenty of heads with its colorful convertible Corvette, Fiat, VW Beetle and 20-feet-tall truck.
Whereas you or I might call on friends to help with a move, Barbie has enlisted Mario Lopez, who was on hand Friday along with his daughter Gia to get the moving process underway.
PHOTOS: Barbie’s Dream House over the years
This all started in February when Mattel announced that Barbie was giving up her Malibu dream house and would travel to 11 cities in the U.S. and two in Canada looking for new places to live.
Along the way, the motorcade will make stops, pitching pink tents where children can take part in various Barbie-related activities.
As my colleague Adam Tschorn reported earlier, the first stop is scheduled for the Grove in Los Angeles from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1.
Adam was pretty skeptical that Barbie will find anyplace she’d rather live than Malibu. We’ll find out at the end of July, when they toy company is set to unveil a new Barbie Dream House.
