We’ve already seen a lot of real estate activity in 2017 and we’re not even up to the Super Bowl, which traditionally kicks off the start of the sales season here in Southern California. If our prognosticator skills are intact and January is any indication, we’re in for another busy housing market as prices continue to creep upward.

Where the stars align

Music producer Richard Perry and actress Jane Fonda are ready for a scene change in Beverly Hills, listing their home of five years for sale at $12.999 million.

The contemporary-style home, built in 1961 and completely renovated, was previously owned by Emmy Award-winning television director John Rich, who died in 2012 at 86. Fonda and Perry paid $7.3 million for the home that year.

The multi-level 7,500-square-foot house features a central glass elevator, a recording studio, a media room and a diner-style wet bar. A wall of gold records pays homage to Perry’s scores of hits.

The more than three-quarter-acre site contains a solar-heated swimming pool, a meditation garden and a fire pit.

Fonda, 79, won Oscars for the 1970s films “Klute” and “Coming Home.” She currently appears on the Netflix series “Grace and Frankie.”

Perry, 74, has produced albums for such stars as Rod Stewart, Carly Simon and the Pointer Sisters.

This is her

Actress and singer Mandy Moore, who last year sold her house in Los Feliz, has bought a home in the Linda Vista area of Pasadena for about $2.56 million.

The midcentury modern-style house sits on a hilltop lot of more than an acre with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valley floor.

Among details that caught our eye in the flat-roofed house, built in 1950, is the copper-hooded fireplace in the living room and the abundance of floor-to-ceiling windows that open to patios and pristine garden spaces.

A swimming pool and spa complete the grounds.

Moore, 32, currently stars in the NBC series “This Is Us.” She has released six studio albums, most recently “Amanda Leigh” in 2009.

His latest production

Hollywood film producer Mike Medavoy and his wife, Irene, have sold their estate in a gated Beverly Hills enclave for $9.948 million. They paid $8.2 million for the house in 2013.

Built in 2005, the East Coast-inspired home sits on 1.85 acres with a detached guesthouse, an outdoor pavilion and a swimming pool.

The renovated interiors include a two-story foyer with black-and-white checkerboard floors that opens to the living room with a fireplace. The dining and family rooms, library, master bedroom and guesthouse also have fireplaces.

Medavoy is chairman and chief executive at Phoenix Pictures. The 75-year-old filmmaker has scores of credits including such Oscar winners as “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Rocky” and “Annie Hall.”

Actor offers corner penthouse

Ty Burrell, who plays fictional real estate agent Phil Dunphy on the show “Modern Family,” has put his penthouse condominium in Culver City up for sale at $1.398 million. He bought the place seven years ago for $865,000.

The corner unit features custom fabric wallpaper, an updated kitchen with an island and balconies off the living room and master bedroom. Tall sliding glass doors take in city and mountain views.

Burrell, 49, has won a pair of Emmys for his role on “Modern Family.” His other credits include the TV series “Out of Practice” and “Back to You” as well as the films “The Incredible Hulk” (2008) and “Finding Dory” (2016).

A collaboration of sorts

Record producer, multi-instrumentalist and frequent Kanye West collaborator Mike Dean bought the Studio City home of stand-up comic Russell Peters for $2.5 million.

The Mediterranean, built in 2004 and since updated, has such eye-catching features as a steel wall fireplace in the family room, a theater room with tiered seating and a wet bar with a chrome backsplash.

Including a guesthouse, there is about 5,900 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Dean, 51, has collaborated with such artists as Scarface, Jay Z, Beyoncé and Frank Ocean. He has won multiple Grammy Awards for his work with West.

A whisperer listing

Dog activist, behaviorist and television personality Cesar Millan has put his house in Studio City on the market for slightly under $1.8 million.

Built in 2012, the traditional-style home includes a living room with a fireplace, a coffered-ceiling dining room, a loft, five bedrooms and 4.25 bathrooms.

The master suite features two walk-in closets and a two-sided fireplace shared by the bathroom and sitting room.

Millan, 47, gained fame as the self-taught dog-training star of the show “Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan,” which aired from 2004 to 2012. He currently hosts and produces the series “Cesar 911” on Nat Geo Wild.

Ball player gives up his base

Pro baseball player and free agent James Loney, who appeared in 100 games for the New York Mets last year, has sold his home in the Poway area of San Diego for $1.925 million.

The two-story house, built in 2003, sits on more than an acre with a lagoon-style swimming pool, tropical landscaping and lawn. More than 80 solar panels help to offset the electrical consumption of the 6,064-square-foot home. There are six bedrooms and five bathrooms.

A former first-round pick of the Dodgers, Loney played for L.A. from 2006 to 2012. The 32-year-old bought the house five years ago.
