Earthquake: Magnitude 3.1 quake strikes near Pinnacles, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon one mile from Pinnacles, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:10 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.9 mile.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 13 miles from Soledad, 16 miles from Greenfield and 21 miles from King City.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
