Man fatally shot by Alhambra police
A man was fatally shot Friday night by Alhambra police officers responding to a domestic disturbance call, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 7:25 p.m., the man’s parents called 911, saying their son might be armed. When officers arrived in the 2900 block of West Main Street in Alhambra, they heard shots from across the street.
Police returned fire and the suspect was struck, a sheriff’s department spokeswoman said. The suspect later died at a local hospital.
The officers, who were wearing body cameras, were not injured. Police recovered a handgun and a shotgun which they believe the suspect had used, the spokeswoman said.
