Woman dies in Watts apartment fire

A woman died at the scene of an apartment fire in Watts on Monday, authorities said.
Firefighters sent to the 11000 block of Zamora Avenue at 8:18 a.m. extinguished the flames in nine minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was not immediately identified.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
