11-year-old boy found safe in Glendora after disappearing while riding his scooter

An 11-year-old boy who disappeared Thursday night while riding his scooter was found safe in Glendora, authorities said.

Adam Hernandez was last seen at 6:30 p.m. in front of a mobile home park in the 3700 block of West Valley Boulevard in Pomona, according to the Pomona Police Department.

The boy recently had been placed in foster care, police Lt. Jaime Gutierrez said. On Thursday night, Adam ran away and went to the home of a parent, who returned him to social workers, he said.

About 9 a.m., police found the boy at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services office in Glendora, Gutierrez said.

“He is not the victim of a crime,” the lieutenant said.
