Pac-12: Arizona holds off Washington, 77-66

Kadeem Allen scored 14 points to lead five Arizona players in double figures and the No. 7 Wildcats wore down Washington, 77-66, on Sunday at Tucson.

The Wildcats (20-2, 9-0 Pac-12 Conference) won their 14th consecutive game and 18th in a row at home, but Coach Sean Miller wasn’t satisfied. He didn’t allow players to speak to the media after the game.

“We have to be better moving forward,” Miller said.

Kobi Simmons had 13 points, and Allonzo Trier, Dusan Ristic and Lauri Markkanen each had 12.

Freshman Markelle Fultz scored 16 points for the Huskies (9-12, 2-7) but on eight-for-23 shooting. He didn’t make any of his four three-point shots or any of his four free throws.

Arizona was sluggish early against an aggressive zone defense and the Huskies led, 33-31, at the break. The Wildcats missed their first eight three-point shots and had nine turnovers in the first half.

at California 66, Stanford 55: Ivan Rabb had 25 points and 13 rebounds, and the Golden Bears (15-6, 6-3) pulled away late in the second half. Rabb overcame a sluggish start and scored 15 points in the second half. Reid Travis scored 17 points, and Michael Humphrey had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinal (11-10, 3-6), who lost to their cross-bay rivals for only the third time in the last nine games.

Washington State 91, at Arizona State 83: Josh Hawkinson scored 31 points, and the Cougars (11-10, 3-6) had a 22-6 advantage on fastbreak points. Tra Holder had 27 points for the Sun Devils (10-12, 3-6).
