USC recruiting: Tailback targets in the 2016 class
USC is expected to sign two tailbacks in the 2016 recruiting class after Aca’Cedric Ware, Dominic Davis and Ronald Jones signed in 2015.
Melquise Stovall committed in April.
The 5-foot-7½, 177-pound Stovall said he would take summer classes at Lancaster Paraclete High so he could enroll at USC in January.
Stovall also wants to squeeze in unofficial visits this summer.
“I may try to get up to Oregon, Oregon State and a couple others,” he said.
Stovall had 1,603 yards and 20 touchdowns in 198 carries in 2014. He caught 21 passes for 415 yards and two touchdowns.
Elijah Holyfield, who was offered a scholarship by USC in February, will make summer visits to USC, Oregon and Tennessee, but he is thought to be leaning toward Auburn, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Holyfield, from College Park, Ga., is the son of boxer Evander Holyfield.
USC offered a scholarship last month to Vavae Malepeai from Mililani, Hawaii.
Malepeai’s list of favorite schools includes California, Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, USC and Washington, Oregonlive.com reported.
