Santa Monica

Audience members help Annie Oakley and friends to victory over the awful Marvin Q. Moneypots in “Annie Oakley and the Princess Café,” billed as a the “rhythm and boos musical comedy melodrama,” at the Santa Monica Playhouse.

Pasadena, Agoura Hills and Beverly Hills

Put on some love beads, grab a flower and flash back to the swingin’ ’60s and the British Invasion when Herman’s Hermits play three venues: Rose in Pasadena, Canyon in Agoura Hills and Saban in Beverly Hills. Peter Noone, a.k.a., “Herman,” will sing his nostalgic hits “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am” and “I’m Into Something Good.”

Pomona

Kayaks, canoes, cabin cruisers, sport-fishing boats, pontoons, runabouts, deck boats, inflatables, tow boats, ski boats, high-performance water craft and dinghies will be displayed at the 62nd Los Angeles Boat Show at the Fairplex. Visitors can try kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding in a demonstration pool. If you need accessories, vendors will offer all sorts of marine items.

Los Angeles

Take the Skid Row Walking Tour guided by someone who has experienced homeless problems firsthand. The 50-square-block neighborhood is a diverse community of neighbors in many living situations, and participants learn how they can help nonprofit organizations.

Palm Desert

It’s grown-ups only at the Living Desert’s Park After Dark for a guided tour to watch what desert birds, reptiles and furry critters do at night. Visitors can sample adult beverages at several tasting stations.

Here’s a chance to “visit” California’s Marine Protected Areas without getting wet. Check out Underwater Parks Day at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Take a peek at local sea life in exhibits showing kelp forests, fish, sharks, seals and sea lions. Visitors can watch eco films, touch coastal rays and discover how protected places help baby fish.
