Former basketball superstar Shaquille O’Neal hung up his sneakers on Saturday night and instead wore gold headphones when he returned to Las Vegas to play deejay.

The former center for the Los Angeles Lakers and other NBA teams brought down the house at Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop at Paris Las Vegas, where he appeared for the second time as DJ Diesel. A year ago, he made his deejay debut at the nightclub.

Shaq rolled into the club with an entourage of friends and girlfriend Laticia Rolle. The crowd erupted as he spun classic and contemporary jams including The Notorious B.I.G’s “Big Poppa” and Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen.”

Shaq uses the name Diesel from his playing days, when the nickname suggested he had the power and endurance of a diesel engine. He also released a rap album, “Shaq Diesel,” that went platinum.

O’Neal’s former Lakers teammate Rick Fox was also in the crowd.
