Shopping for shoes or cosmetics? Try two new options in town
Reporting from Las Vegas — Two new high-end designers enter the shopping fray of Las Vegas, bringing fancy shoes and dedicated cosmetics stores.
French footwear designer Christian Louboutin debuts at the Shops at Crystals with its third Las Vegas location. The 1,442-square-foot space features women’s and men’s shoes, handbags and small leather goods, as well as the brand’s recently launched nail color.
The exterior features striated reclaimed wood, bleached and inked to create a two-tone, black-and-white finish, which complements the Frank Gehry-designed steel tree sculptures found in the corridors of the luxury shopping center.
Separate retail rooms inside the boutique are separated by metal gate displays, which can create the illusion that garden gates are open or closed. Wall coverings in natural and geometric patterns make the space feel like a vertical forest. Olga of Greece created the custom handbag wallpaper with green vines and birds in the women’s retail area. Over on the men’s side, you’ll find architectural landscapes by photographer Eric Sander.
The fall/winter collection of shoes is already on display.
Dior brings its new beauty boutique to the Forum Shops at Caesars. The first of four new beauty-only shops to open nationwide brings a 965-square-foot shop with a black-and-chrome design.
Try on cosmetics at makeup bars that feature multiple-setting lights to mimic different situations.
A “skin-care cabinet” hosts private facials.
