On Veterans Day, thousands in Los Angeles pay their respects
More than 3,000 people turned out Monday for the San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade, which included a flyover of World War II-era planes. Elsewhere, members of the armed forces were invited to join the Dodgers for batting practice, and homeless veterans and family members gathered at Midnight Mission to pay tribute with a color guard and raising of the flag.
