Earthquake: 2.7 quake strikes near Marina del Rey
A shallow magnitude 2.7 earthquake was reported Friday afternoon, a mile from Marina del Rey, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:17 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 6.2 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was three miles from El Segundo, four miles from Santa Monica, four miles from Inglewood and 360 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
