A 7-year old girl was killed early Sunday evening when the car she was riding in veered off the road and slammed into a house in South Los Angeles.

Critically injured were a 30-year old woman and three young boys who were also in the vehicle.

“Nobody in the house or on the street was injured,” said Brian Humphrey, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The department received a series of 911 calls from witnesses beginning at 5:47 p.m., after the beige sedan crashed through a white fence and smashed into a brick exterior wall of the house in the 700 block of East 93rd Street.

The 30-year old woman was temporarily trapped in the wreckage, Humphrey said. The 7-year old girl was, “sadly, beyond our help,” Humphrey said. Rescuers pronounced her dead at the scene.

The injured boys are 6 years, 4 years and 18 months old, Humphrey said, adding that those are approximate ages.
