Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes in Riverside County
A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Thursday afternoon about seven miles east of the Coahuila Indian Reservation in Riverside County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:41 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 8.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was about about 16 miles southwest of La Quinta, 17 miles south-southwest of Palm Desert and 17 miles south-southwest of Rancho Mirage.
In the last 10 days, there have been five earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
