Earthquake: 3.7 quake strikes near Ridgecrest
A shallow magnitude 3.7 earthquake was reported Monday morning eight miles from Ridgecrest, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:35 a.m. PDT at a depth of 4.3 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 45 miles from California City and 59 miles from Barstow.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
