Suspected drunk driver crashes car into North Hollywood flood control channel
A driver lost control of his car early Wednesday in North Hollywood, crashing into two fences before landing at the bottom of a cemented flood control channel.
The crash happened about 1:40 a.m. in the 11200 block of Riverside Drive, just east of the 170, 101 and 134 freeway interchange, said Los Angeles Police Officer Eric Hansen of the Valley Traffic Division. Police suspect the driver was intoxicated.
At least one person was seriously injured, Hansen said. It was not clear how many people were involved in the crash.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews were working to lift the injured victim from the car and clear the area of debris.
