4.3 earthquake strikes near Lake Isabella in Kern County
A shallow magnitude 4.3 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning 11 miles from Weldon, Calif., in Kern County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:46 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 1.9 mile.
The epicenter was 25 miles from Tehachapi, 29 miles from California City, 35 miles from Ridgecrest and 265 miles from Carson City, Nev., according to the USGS.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
