Ed Sullivan statue stolen from Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
A solid bronze statue of Ed Sullivan has been stolen from atop its pedestal at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Hall of Fame Plaza, police officials said Monday.
The statue, about 1 1/2 feet tall and weighing 20 pounds, was on display as part of an outdoor exhibit that featured legendary TV personalities and pioneers.
Los Angeles police detectives are calling on the public to help provide any information that would lead to the arrest of whoever committed this “grand theft.”
Anyone with information regarding the missing statue should call LAPD North Hollywood burglary detectives at (818) 623-4081, or (877)-LAPD-24-7 during non-business hours or on weekends.
Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS or text the phone number 274637.
