Former L.A. County Superior Court clerk accused of stealing court fees
A former Los Angeles County Superior Court clerk has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars in court fees, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said Tuesday.
Linda Mascorro, 59, of Covina, is accused of stealing more than $6,000 while processing and collecting fees from people filing civil name change petitions between 2010 and 2014 at the Pomona courthouse, officials said.
Mascorro, who was arrested Thursday, is charged with 15 felony counts of misappropriation of public funds.
The case was investigated by Superior Court of California auditors.
Mascorro is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 20. She being held on $100,000 bail.
