Man found shot to death in parked SUV in East L.A.
Few details were available in the shooting death of man in East Los Angeles whose body was found about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in a black SUV.
Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene in the 4800 block of Telegraph Road about an hour after the body was found.
A spokesman for the L.A. County coroner’s office said the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been identified.
HOMICIDE REPORT: A story for every victim
In the last 12 months, there have been at least nine other homicides in East L.A., according to the Homicide Report.
The most recent was 23-year-old Carlos Ernesto Oliva Sola, who died Sept. 10 after he was shot, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
East L.A., over the same 12-month period, has ranked as the 47th most deadly neighborhood out of the county’s 270 neighborhoods, according to an L.A. Times analysis of homicide data for that period.
There have been at least 84 homicides in East L.A. since 2007.
Tuesday’s incident marked the first shooting death of 2014.
