Few details were available about the shooting, which was reported about 2:40 a.m. in the 5000 block of South Western Avenue, said Los Angeles police Officer Sally Madera. The officers who responded to the scene found a man who had been shot multiple times.

Police had no suspect description and did not know if the shooting was gang-related, Madera said.
