10 people injured when SUV plows into Pacoima pizzeria
A 5-year-old boy was critically injured and nine others were treated by emergency medics Monday evening after a sport utility vehicle plowed into a Pacoima pizzeria.
The child was taken to a hospital with head trauma. Six others, including a 1-month-old baby and another child, were also transported to hospitals with minor injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Two adults and a child were treated by firefighters at the scene but declined to go to hospitals, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
He said three of the victims had “direct contact” with the compact SUV and the others were injured by flying glass and debris.
The incident was reported about 6 p.m. in the 12000 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.
