Three killed in multivehicle crash that may have involved street racing
Three people were killed and two critically injured in a multivehicle collision in Commerce early Saturday that may have involved street racing, authorities said.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred about 1 a.m. on South Malt Street, said Lt. Robert Medrano of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Three people died at the scene, Medrano said. Two more were transported to USC-Medical Center, where they were listed in critical condition. All five were male.
“There may have been street racing involved, but we don’t know yet” because the incident remains under investigation, Medrano said.
