May the force be with you

This year, Catherine Lacey Dodd and her two sons visited to Joshua Tree National Park for some photo shoot fun.

An avid fan of “Star Wars,” Dodd says she’s inspired to “empower her children” with the legendary franchise and often encourages them to pose as the characters they are playing.

“The fact that Darth Vader is wearing flip-flops, I think adds a childish humor to the image,” the photographer said. “It’s about honoring a cultural phenomenon through the eyes of my children, all while fueling my own youthful nostalgia for the movies.”

Dodd made the image with a Canon 5D Mark III and later edited in Lightroom for exposure, clarity and color.
