The window had been smashed with a rock, police Sgt. Doug Johnson said.

It was the second such incident in the area in as many days.

On Tuesday, a group of would-be burglars tried to smash through a window at an appliance store, also in the 3300 block of Hyland, at around 2:30 a.m., police said. The group fled after seeing a cleaning crew inside the business, police said.
