High School Roundup: Edison baseball throws combined no-hitter

Zach Garber, Evan Knipe and Luke Serven combined to throw a no-hitter, and the Edison High baseball team beat Los Angeles Narbonne 11-0 on Tuesday in a Downey tournament game at home.

Garber pitched four innings, Knipe two innings and Serven one inning for Edison (2-0).

SOFTBALL

Huntington Beach 6, San Clemente 2: Grace Uribe struck out five in six innings and went two for four with a run batted in and a double in the Oilers’ season opener at home Tuesday.

Huntington Beach’s Shelbi Ortiz was three for four with an RBI.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Edison 22, Santa Margarita 17: Blakely Malpass had six goals in the Chargers’ season opener Tuesday on the road.

Gwen Ontiveros scored five goals for Edison, and Ali Bryant and Anna Beachner scored three goals each.

Goalkeeper Zoe Soukup made nine saves for the Chargers.
