There’s no place like home for the holidays, and an event Thursday will showcase the seasonal splendor of five select Costa Mesa residences while raising money for charitable causes.

The fourth annual Costa Mesa Home Tour — presented this year by the Costa Mesa High School Foundation and the Heroes Hall veterans museum at the OC Fair & Event Center — will take guests through homes in the Mesa Verde, Mesa North, Mesa del Mar and Halecrest neighborhoods.

Money raised will go to fund arts and science programs at Costa Mesa High and help cover the costs for Orange County students to take field trips to Heroes Hall, according to Katrina Foley, chairwoman of the event’s organizing committee.

“Costa Mesa has a lot of creative interior designers and design showrooms,” said Foley, who also is a Costa Mesa City Council member. “The home tour provides an opportunity for us to showcase all of those local Costa Mesa businesses that do so much to make all of our homes so beautiful.”

Thursday’s tour will start at 3 p.m. at Heroes Hall. A reception after the tour will be hosted by the Pottery Barn store at South Coast Plaza and will feature a silent auction, crafts for purchase and student performances.

Tickets for the tour cost $50, but veterans and active military service members can get two tickets for the price of one.
