Dodgers host Hollywood Stars celebrity softball game
Hollywoord stars, including Larry King and James Van Der Beek, participated in a celebrity softball game at Dodgers Stadium.
It wasn’t the A-list crowd that it was back in its heyday -- when Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin played -- but plenty of celebrities participated in the Hollywood Stars softball game Saturday at Dodger Stadium.
It was the first time since 2009 that the Dodgers hosted the game. The tradition began in 1958.
Talk show host Larry King and Garry Marshall were listed as team managers, however, both -- 81 and 80, respectively -- opted to play.
King caught, Marshall pitched and each took a turn at-bat.
Other celebrity participants included actors James Van Der Beek, Jaleel White, Vivica A. Fox and Shemar Moore.
Former US soccer star Landon Donovan and WNBA star Lisa Leslie also played.
