Vin Scully is back on his feet after an unspecified medical procedure and still very much intending to broadcast Dodgers games next season.

In an interview Wednesday morning with Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet LA, Scully said he was eager to return for his 67th, and likely final, season broadcasting the Dodgers next year.

“Oh yeah, definitely,” Scully said. “I’m looking forward to next year, maybe because it’s my last year.

“I’m looking forward to it as much as my second year because I got by the first year and I was so thrilled that there was another one coming up, well that’s how I feel about ’16. I am chafing at the bit.”

The Dodgers announced on Oct. 8 that Scully, 87, would miss broadcasting the Dodgers’ postseason after undergoing a recommended medical procedure.

The comments made to SportsNet LA were his first in public since the procedure. The full interview is scheduled to air Thursday at 7 p.m. on SportsNet LA.
