Boys’ basketball: Thomas Welsh is coming home with gold medal
Former Loyola center Thomas Welsh is coming home with a gold medal.
The UCLA player was a member of the USA U19 team that defeated Croatia, 79-71, in overtime on Sunday to win the FIBA U19 World Championship.
Another player smiling is former Maranatha guard Tyler Dorsey. He played for Greece and averaged 15.9 points. He’s off to Oregon in the fall.
