On Thursday, the Lakers signed veteran forward Brandon Bass to a multiyear contract.

Bass, a 10-year veteran, averaged 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds a game last season for the Boston Celtics

“I am excited to add a player of Brandon’s skill level and character to our roster,” said General Manager Mitch Kupchak in a statement. “His work ethic, toughness, and selfless play lend themselves well to our team.”

Earlier in the day, the Lakers signed guard Lou Williams and rookie guard/forward Anthony Brown, selected in June with the 34th overall pick in the draft.

The Lakers are expected to complete a trade with the Indiana Pacers for center Roy Hibbert. They’ll also sign rookies D’Angelo Russell (second overall pick) and Larry Nance Jr. (27th).

If the team doesn’t make any trades or cuts, the roster will stand at 14, one short of the regular-season maximum of 15.

At guard, the team has Kobe Bryant, Jordan Clarkson, Jabari Brown, Williams and Russell, though Bryant may end up the team’s starting small forward, backed up by Nick Young and Anthony Brown.

The Lakers also have big men Julius Randle, Tarik Black, Robert Sacre, Ryan Kelly, Nance, Bass and Hibbert (presuming the trade is completed successfully).

The terms of Bass’ deal have yet to be disclosed.
