Warriors’ Draymond Green faces charges of assault
Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has been arrested and could face assault charges, multiple media sites are reporting.
Green was arrested early Sunday at an East Lansing, Mich., restaurant and is scheduled for arraignment on July 20, police told ESPN.
“It was basically an altercation between two guys,” police said. “There’s no injuries. He was released with a $200 bond on Sunday.”
The San Francisco Chronicle reports Green slapped a man who was taunting him in the restaurant.
Green, 26, has yet to comment on the arrest.
The Warriors said in a statement: “We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”
Green played for Michigan State in college and is a key member of a Warriors team that won the NBA title in 2015 and posted a league-record 73 wins in 2015-16. He is also a member of the U.S. Olympics men’s basketball team.
Records from the East Lansing District Court show that a $200 cash bond was paid.
