Little League outfielder robs opposing team of a home run with a spectacular catch

Share

Jack Regenye is quite an athlete.

The outfielder for the Kennett Square (Pa.), the East Region team in the Junior League World Series (ages 12-15), made one heck of a play to rob the opposing team, Chinese Taipei, of a home run on Sunday.

Regenye never slows down as he chases a towering hit in center field.

He never takes his eye off the ball, even as he leaps up and over the outfield fence.

He never touches the fence with any part his body, except for his leg on his way down after what ended up being a complete flip on the other side of the fence.

And he never even cracks a smile when he comes up with the ball still in his glove for the out.

Some confusion ensued as the officiating crew initially ruled the play an out, then overturned it, then overturned that ruling back to the original call of an out.

Despite the incredible play by Regenye, Chinese Taipei went on to claim a 12-1 victory to win the tournament.
