Former Angels outfield prospect Ryan Bolden, whose minor league career was cut short because of back injuries in 2013, was shot and killed Wednesday night after an argument broke out at an apartment complex in College Park, Ga.

Investigators told Fox 5 in Atlanta that several children were arguing about candy at the complex when adults got involved. The incident turned violent about 8:30 p.m., and Bolden, 23, was shot and killed.

Police told Fox 5 they have a suspect, but his name had not been released as of early Thursday evening.

Bolden was the 40th overall pick in the 2010 draft out of Madison Central High in Mississippi. He played parts of four seasons in the Angels organization — three in Arizona and one in Orem, Utah — but never advanced past rookie ball and never hit better than .200.
