Evelyn Lozada files for divorce from Chad Johnson
Evelyn Lozada has filed for divorce from NFL receiver Chad Johnson, a representative for the VH1 reality star confirmed Tuesday.
The couple was married July 4 -- just 41 days ago. Johnson, who had legally changed his name to Chad Ochocinco back in 2008, switched back to his given name at the request of his wife. He also claimed, on HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” that he loved her so much he would pause the video game “Call of Duty” for her and only her.
But Johnson was reportedly arrested Saturday on suspicion of head-butting his wife during an argument over a receipt for condoms she found. He was reportedly released Sunday on bail.
Lozada put out a statement earlier Tuesday that Johnson needs help and should take responsibility for his actions.
A planned VH1 reality show about the couple was canceled Monday. Johnson also was cut by the Miami Dolphins the day after the alleged incident.
