Kings goalie Jonathan Quick has ‘minor surgery’
LONDON -- Kings goalie and Stanley Cup MVP Jonathan Quick had a “minor surgical procedure” on Thursday, repairing a disc fragment and an inflammatory cyst, according to the team.
Quick, who helped lead the Kings to their first Stanley Cup in franchise history this past season, will start his back rehabilitation activities in about a week, and the team said that a full recovery should take a minimum of six weeks.
That time frame puts it at late September, which would seemingly coincide with the start of training camp. But plans for training camp, of course, are far from certain because of the murky NHL labor situation.
Quick, in early July, signed a 10-year contract extension worth $58 million.
