Manny Pacquiao wants Metta World Peace to play in the Philippines
Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao apparently wants to bring peace to the Philippines.
Metta World Peace, that is.
Pacquiao, who is both a player and a coach for the newly formed Kia Sorentos in the Philippine Basketball Assn., recently said that he wants the former NBA star to play alongside him.
“He’s OK. He’s my friend,” said Pacquiao, according to the Philippine Star. “We need a good import. If we get him, that would be nice.”
World Peace, a former Laker, has already signed a one-year deal worth $1.43 million to play with the Sichuan Blue Whales in China.
Pacquiao and World Peace met in Los Angeles in 2009 before Pacquiao fought Miguel Cotto.
