Boys’ basketball: Aaron Holiday commits to UCLA
Aaron Holiday, a junior guard at North Hollywood Campbell Hall who’s the younger brother of former UCLA and NBA guard Jrue Holiday, has committed to UCLA, his mother, Toya, said Monday.
Holiday averaged more than 30 points a game this season for the Vikings, who lost in the Southern Section Division 4A semifinals last week. In his last three playoff games, Holiday scored 36, 39 and 42 points.
His sister, Lauren, plays for UCLA’s women’s team.
His commitment is a triumph for new Coach Steve Alford, who had to re-recruit the family after Jrue’s experience under former Coach Ben Howland.
