South Dakota: Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood on family bike tour
As your kids no doubt remind you, it’s never too soon to think about summer vacation. This family trip from Bicycle Adventures will get everyone up and rolling through South Dakota on the paved Mickelson Trail.
The six-day tour begins and ends in Rapid City, S.D. Highlights include a stop at Wall Drug, Badlands and Wind Cave national parks, a mammoth dig, Bedrock City Theme Park (think “Flintstones”), Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore memorials, and Deadwood, home of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Average daily biking distance is 15 miles.
