Yours truly browsed Barneys and Neiman Marcus in Bev Hills yesterday for a story about the escalating price of women’s shoes. And you thought gas prices were bad. Well, the Rage saw gold Chloe gladiator sandals selling for over $500. When in Rome? WTF? But on Ninewest.com, there are a bevy of adorable reptile-stamped sandals -- in gold, silver, pink, black and other hues -- selling for $79. Nine West knows they have a winner here and the shoes are available by pre-sale only. If you order now, you can get most of these styles by mid-March or late-April.
