When the social swirl of holiday parties starts around Thanksgiving and holds a steady pulse until New Year’s, we often feel compelled to wear festive accessories – no, I don’t mean the red Christmas tree ornament earrings my grade school nurse wore with a reindeer sweatshirt and green turtleneck, or the wreath brooch stuck to my high school principal’s blazer.
I’m talking about bauble-y costume pieces in gold with pearls that dangle, and large statement necklaces with crystals that look like winter icicles. But what about those of us who don’t love the vintage-inspired wares that flood mall shops and cheap chic stores?
Well, Swarovski crystals has collaborated with Aldo on a line of accessories that includes the “Huzzard” necklace, a smattering of crystals big and small, intertwined with neon string in the most haphazard manner. It’s bold and statement making but with an edge. It says, you’re festive, but you’re also really fun.
